Helmets and hi-vis vests are also supplied. Talk to the staff at the centre and find out which part of Erris is the best place to explore, depending on your ages, abilities and what appeals to you! Grab your kayak or your bike here and go wild in Erris!
Belmullet town is the hub of the North Mayo Cycle Network. There are a number of marked cycle trails ranging in distance from 37km to 72km. Cycling is one of the best ways to truly explore the four corners of the beautiful barony of Erris – whether you are on a marked trail or you are going off the beaten path!
Situated at the southernmost tip of the Mullet Peninsula, grab your bike at Léim Siar and head north towards Ceann Iorrais, while stopping for a picnic at a vast Blue Flag beach or a small sheltered cove.
The Giro de Baile is a fantastic, family-friendly cycling event that has three varying routes to choose from. The scenery from all routes is spectacular - with views of Downpatrick Head, the Atlantic Ocean and beyond. You'll find yourself cycling through the most beautiful parts of Erris, of Tirawley (our neighbouring barony) and of North Mayo.
The next Giro de Baile will be held on 7th August 2017.
